160 GB SATA Disk shows 137 GB, where is the rest???

Feb 10, 2005 6:56PM PST

I have recently purchased 160 GB Barracuda SATA 7200 RPM disk for my Intel 865 Mother Board. I have used Partition Magic 8.0 to create a single partition. PM detects only 137 GB. Is there a way to recover the rest?? Pls advice.

Fair warning. XP will not install on a PM created 160GB ...

I can make XP fail to install by creating a partition with PM. Use XP's native partitioner during setup to avoid the issue.

XP supports the over 127/137GB drives as soon as you apply SP1. Look up AUTOSTREAMER if you need to create a XP SP2 CD.
