137g barrier

I have installed large drives on a number of systems but this one computer has me stumped.....

Computer has windows XP pro with the SP1 installed. I am running the drive off the TX2 Promise card which supports 137g .....

The drive is a 160 WD but it still reads 131 and I know it should read 149 or around there....

I updated the ATAPI.SYS file to the newest version.

When I go into computer manager it still shows 131, when I use partition magic 8, same thing.....

What am I missing??????

You may need to update your BIOS firmware......if available. I had a computer before that had an 8Gb limit until I upgraded my firmware.

but is not the reason to buy the Promise card which does support it... I does read all the way to 131 and it is a fairly new MB...

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
