Same problem here... Have googled as well, visited bulletin boards but to no prevail... I have an iPod built-in into my new Merc SLK. Even at max volume it sometimes does not get loud enough (and the signal is definitely weaker than tuner or CD), especially when playing classical, and with the hood off!
A solution, please!!!
I just bought a new car. It has a nice radio with subwoofer and all. The radio itself sounds great and will get so loud you can not stand it.
When I plub my iRiver or XM radio Dephi Roady into the AUX jack, they play fine but even at MAX volume on the radio they do not get as loud as I want.
I think the signal input level is too low and am trying to find a 12V signal booster (preamp) that I can plug the iRiver into, then plug the signal booster into the AUX jack on the front of the radio.
I would like to be able to power it from the cigarette lighter jack on the dash..
I have Googled and talked and searched for something like this for a week or more with no luck.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
