Best of the shared memory GPUs
Sep 14, 2005 2:28AM PDT

Pros:
It's the best shared memory GPU on the market.
The HP zv6000 and R4000 notebooks add 128MB of dedicated memory, bringing performance closer to the Radeon X300.

Cons:
It's still a low-end GPU. It'll struggle with Doom 3.

If you're serious about gaming find an AMD notebook with a Radeon X700. There are at least a few out there. Otherwise the 200M is fine.

I'm thinking of getting the HP zv6000 with the 128 version..

So ok it will struggle with Doom3, but will it be fine for the plethora of slightly less recent/graphics-intensive games like Far Cry, BF Vietnam, Joint Ops, Madden 05, Neverwinter Nights...

For stuff like that is it going to be fine?

good choice

I have run Madden 04 and it runs great. Madden 05 is probably not much different. Neverwinter Nights works great as well. I have an hpzv6000 with AMD Athlon 64 3500+ with 1gb ram. Most everything works well. The only thing I have found so far that does not work well is Knights of the Old Republic. This is a good system at a great price. Also, check out www.zv6000forums.com for more great information.
