Re:128-bit/ If you can get...IE5.5 Service Pack1 included 128 bit.

I prefer running IE 5.5 on 98SE as few problems reported v/s IE6.0. Service Pack1 for 5.5 included 128 bit encryption (for banking etc.) Unless you're into heavy Media Player usage for films, videos etc., that would be my recom. I suspect 5.5 sp2 kas ie6 components. Not all 98 machines seem to have a problem w/ IE6 but mine sure did (massive increase in Hangs, Invalid page faults, fatal exceptions etc).
Did you have 128 on your 5.0 previously? If so how was it obtained? Possibly your IE 5 could be repaired by repair tool located in your add/delete programs section. 1 more: Do you have an IE install disc to obtain repair files?
If you must go to IE6, I recall several months ago, R. Proffit (?) posted a specific file (can,t recall name) which was different in IE6 and if this file was deleted and the old copy of this file( from 5.5) was installed into IE6, it solved the apparent problem. The two files actually had the same name but slightly different content.
Just hoping this gives you another option. Happy
