120Hz LN52A650A

Feb 4, 2009 2:26AM PST

Mr Samsung,
I purchased a Samsung LN52A650A LCD TV along with a Samsung BD-P1500.
I've been reading in the formums about the incoming 60Hz signals.
You stated that all of the BDPxx00 units output at 120Hz but when I hit the info button it says @60Hz.
I also purchased two of the 120Hz monster cables which now seems to have possibly been a mistake.
I also read a post where someone said that there are not any Samsung products that recieve 120Hz through through any ports.
Any help is appreciated

Tim,
I have the same situation you described.
Your info showing 60Hz from your Samsung BDP.
Did you ever get this resolved or get an answer to your question?
I searched throuhg the posts and cannot find where your question was
answered.
I did see a post where someone said that no Samsung product can receive more than 60Hz incoming and I don't know if that is true or not.
Thanks in andvance for any information you can provide.

Hertz

Normally upon hitting the info button on any samsung unit's the unit will always display 60 hz or. 30 with certain devices. This is absolutely normal.

Your unit will always be running at 120 hz the 60 hz is jus coming from the device connected. But as you stated the Blu-ray player is supposed to be 120 hz. I would advise calling 800-Samsung's blu ray dept for further clarification of the 120 hz operation.

120Hz

keithf01,

The BDP units, as all sources, only transmit 60Hz. There are no 120Hz sources (that I'm aware of) that would require a 120hz cable. That said, I believe those cables are guaranteed for life, so hopefully that will help justify the additional cost.

The Info Button will display the incoming signal. No matter what signal comes into the LN52A650, the unit will always display 1080p at 120Hz through the Auto Motion Plus processing that is done inside of the television.

I hope that helps.
