Basically, it's either going to be 1080p or 1080i. There's no need to show both the p and the i (since if you pick one to show, the other is assumed if it's not shown) -- think of it as an on/off switch, you don't need to label both the on and the off.
Basically, if it says 1080, it means 1080p.
I hooked up a PS3 to my Samsung LN46A650 to view Blue Ray at full 1080p. My Samsung supports 1080p/24hz. I've configured the PS# to output at 1080p, but when I play a BlueRay movie and press the info button on my Samsung remote, the info box in the upper left-hand corner says "1920 x 1080 @ 24hz". However, when I watch HD TV the info box says says 1920 x 1080i. My question: why doesn't it say 1920 x 1080p when I watch BlueRay...why is there no "p" after 1080? Does this mean I'm not actually getting full 1080p?
