Question

1070 + 2k / RX480 + freesync

Sep 14, 2016 12:14PM PDT

Hi
I am currently picking all my parts for a new PC and know i have come to the point where i have to decide which Gpu and monitor i should take.

So there are two main possibilities either a GTX1070 with the 2k monitor Dell UltraSharp U2515H or a Radeon RX480 with a FullHD - 144Hz and freesync Monitor.

The max price i am able to pay for both is around 700€.

Hopefully some of you can help me with my decision.
Sorry for my bad english it isn´t my native language so keep the answers as easy as possible Wink

Answer
Since your GPU can't drive QHD at decent rates.

I'd pull back to 1080p until you have a few more grand for dual or more GPUs.

The 480 is the top of the mid range cards.
The 1070 is the middle of the high end cards.
So the 1070 has more gaming muscle.

U2515H will give you a very nice image quality but it's not exactly made for high end gaming.
With its 60hz refresh and 6ms response time high end gaming isn't what it was made for.
It's not that you can't game with it but serious gamers might not be happy.
