Question

10" tablet with cellular and wifi

Jul 22, 2014 6:21PM PDT
Hello; I live in Canada and am looking for a 10 inch tablet with a GSM sim card slot as well as wifi. This is for my use in Africa and also in Canada. All the tablets I research do not have the sim slot even though many on Amazon say that they do.

If I might go one step further, I cannot stand the way android 4.3 and up have taken over the appliance (I have a Galaxy 3 phone), so I prefer a unit with a little smaller cpu and ram so it cannot update beyond Jelly Bean 4.2.

Does anyone know where I can get such a unit?

Thank you. Ken

My buddies that do this get a phone and the phone provides a wifi hotspot for any of today's tablets.

Thank you Bob, but I would use it in the middle of Uganda. If there was wifi when I go, I would not be needing the SIM.
I want sim for Africa and wifi for North America.

Google for me (in the Netherlands) finds a lot of hits (including shops) for 3G TABLET and 4G TABLET. But they don't tell if they are compatible with the 3G and 4G offered in the middle of Uganda. So I'm afraid your best move would be to buy it there.

The UGLY truth is that the cellular radio may be incompatible in one or more locations. So again I'll share how my buddies fixed this. They get their laptop/tablet as they want then get the cell phone to provide the wifi hot spot for the last link.

Now I could guess you might be new to all this and I understand that. But my buddies went through the pain of learning so you could save yourself the pain.
