Like said, it will run, provided it meets the minimum CPU speed required, which I think is 867MHz, but you'd probably want to double check that.
How well it runs is a whole other story, and depends a lot on the G4 and RAM you have. I tried running it on an iBook G4 with a 1.2GHz CPU and 768MB of RAM. By and large it was adequate, but some operations were noticeably delayed. Unless you have a late model PowerMac G4 with 1-2GB of RAM, I wouldn't even bother. By the time you've bought additional RAM and a copy of 10.5, you'll probably be about 75% of the way to a new Mac Mini which has 10.6 and will run circles around any G4 system.
