1 800 616 CNET ?

by djcoty / August 21, 2006 8:13 PM PDT

Just curious... what is CNET in American telephony... because it obviously doesn't match up with what we have here in the UK. The American telephone lady tells me off when I use 2638 which is how CNET transpires on phones here.

Two months ago I emailed my call in as an attachment http://www.matthewcornish.info/temp/settie/buzz/matthews_buzz_out_loud_call.mp3 but all that happened was a couple of days later Tom asked people not to attach calls to emails.

*shrugs*

How do you think Captain Paul sends a crystal clear voice message? As long as you host it somewhere else so it doesn't clog up buzz@cnet.com they're happy to play good mp3 calls.

Udayan.

It's the only realistic option for us abroad. I'm going to give it a try sometime this week, if I have something to say - not just a boring holler.

Umm, I said Tom asked people not to attach calls to emails - which is what I had done.

I didn't say he asked people not to upload calls and email links to the files. In fact, that was what he went on to say.

Not really. You're all right about the things I said, though I didn't mean never send the MP3s, I just meant we prefer to receive them as links. Safer that way you see.

As for the CNET it translates to 2638 in American too. Wonder what the issue is. 00-1-800-616-2638 should do the trick no?

Well of course now the american phone lady loves me...
by djcoty / August 22, 2006 11:14 PM PDT

Typical... after all this time trying, the American phone lady no longer tells me there was a protocal error after informing me there would be a charge for calling the toll free number from outside the states. Instead it rang a few times and veronica burst onto the scene Grin hopefully the next time I try calling in it'll still work...

but thanks for the clarification Happy

oh yeah?

I prefer that people shout into a mason jar, close it up, and then send it by pony express.
