Hi, I just recently bought the LN52A850. I absolutely love the tv. My only concern is Im getting the flash lighting problem. I only see this band of light when viewing a black screen. It doesn't bother me all that much but I like things to be the best it can be. My question is, I bought my tv online at onecall. There warranty only covers 72 hours after getting the tv. I didn't notice the flash lighting as I didn't watch anything except standard television. So under Samsungs warranty, Do they offer product replacement if they can't fix the issue with a tech service? Thanks. Again im not bashing the tv. I love it..

DhampireRayne,

If it's only visible on a completely black screen, and not affecting the viewing of the panel, I wouldn't consider it a service issue. However, if you feel that it's beyond what it should be, you can call a service tech to come out and look at it.

Some flashlighting IS inherently normal on an LCD panel. It's when it affects the rest of the picture that it can become a service issue.

Thanks for the quick response. And again its not that bad. Just didnt know if it was normal. I love this tv.I love the 800 series. I would recommend this tv to anyone. So I guess if if it gets worse,I'll have it serviced. If for some reason theres nothing they can do , does samsung offer product replacement? Again thanks for getting back to me.

Backlight

DhampireRayne,

Often times, if it's minor, it can be adjusted by adjusting the backlight settings in the menu, or turning down the brightness a touch.

Do keep me posted. And you're more than welcome. Happy
