Short answer: Yes, probably -- but only if the model that you really want hits a sufficiently low price. Prime Day has historically been a good time to buy AirPods 2, AirPods 3, AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods Max, so keep your eyes peeled for discounts. Things are made more interesting this year by the arrival of Apple's USB-C AirPods Pro 2. They don't necessarily sound any better right now, but will support wireless lossless audio when used with the Vision Pro headset in the future. And they have USB-C instead of Lightning, of course.

Should you buy Apple AirPods on Prime Day?

Amazon often has discounts on all of the various AirPods models. The most significant discounts so far are on the AirPods Pro 2 ($199 or $50 off their list price) and AirPods Max ($480 or $70 off their list price). The AirPods 3 -- or AirPods 3rd Generation, as Apple calls them -- usually are discounted to $150, or $20 of their list price. Hopefully, we'll see their prices dip a bit more for Prime Big Deal Days.

The lowest price we've seen to date for the AirPods Pro 2 at Amazon is $199; the AirPods 3 have fallen to $140; the AirPods Max down to $389; and the AirPods 2 can sometimes be reduced to $79.
