SimpliSafe security system
SimpliSafe

There's nothing more precious in your home than your family, and you want to keep them protected. Chances are you do this already with locks on your doors and windows. But as an additional precaution, a good security system is a worthwhile investment.

Security cameras -- both indoors and outdoors -- help you see what's happening inside and outside of your home so you're always aware of any dangers. If you don't have a system yet or you're looking to upgrade your existing one, you can get an entire 17-piece SimpliSafe security system for just $300 (save $300).

The package on sale at Best Buy today features one indoor and one outdoor camera, eight entry sensors for windows and doorways, two motion sensors and a glassbreak sensor so you can always know what's going on in and around your home. You'll also get the necessary base station for setting everything up and linking to your phone, plus a keypad, keyfob and even a panic button that can be set up to work with 24/7 professional monitoring (subscription required).

Both cameras offer 1080p HD video with the outdoor model being protected against the elements, too. They each feature two-way audio for interacting with any unwanted guests

CNET reviewers David Priest and Ry Crist found setting up SimpliSafe's security system to be easy and the installation was said to be a breeze with the hub being the only thing you need to plug in. You have complete control of the system with the SimpliSafe app and you can add more sensors or cameras down the line if you want to expand your setup.
