There are many good reasons to use a VPN, but the upfront price can be off-putting to a lot of folks. One of the most recognizable VPN brands, NordVPN, is making it a little easier to get on board with its current sale offering up to 63% off the regular cost of a two-year subscription, dropping the monthly cost to as low as $3.49. Even better, new subscribers will also be randomly gifted an additional three months or a whole year on top of their subscription, making the monthly price even cheaper.

The biggest discount in the sale applies to NordVPN's top-tier Complete plan, which bundles in its NordPass password manager and NordLocker encrypted cloud storage at 63% off, or $5.99 per month. If you don't need those added extras, its VPN-only Standard plan is still heavily discounted at 57% off. As long as you buy a two-year plan, you'll be eligible for the free extra months or year regardless of which plan you go for, and you'll be informed by email as to which prize you've won.

NordVPN is one of the best VPN services, with no logs -- as confirmed by a recent third-party audit -- plus solid speeds and a generous simultaneous connection count of six devices (most competitors offer five or fewer). Its service has over 5,000 servers in 60 countries worldwide and a privacy-friendly Panamanian jurisdiction. NordVPN also has a dedicated IP option, a kill-switch feature and the ability to VPN into Tor.

It's worth noting that NordVPN suffered a limited data breach in 2018. Though no user-identifying information was involved, the company conducted multiple security audits and a bug bounty program was set up following the breach. Around this time last year, NordVPN and Surfshark announced the two companies were merging, though both companies continued to operate autonomously. Our most recent NordVPN review goes into the ramifications of these events in more detail should you have concerns over privacy or the corporate structure in place.
