It's definitely not too late to send a bouquet of blossoms for Valentine's Day.

David lives in Brooklyn where he's spent more than a decade covering all things edible, including meal kit services, food subscriptions, kitchen tools and cooking tips. He earned a BA in English from Northeastern, and has toiled in nearly every aspect of the food business, including as a line cook in Rhode Island where he once made a steak sandwich for Lamar Odom. Right now, he's likely somewhere stress-testing a blender or the best way to cook bacon. Anything with sesame is his all-time favorite food this week.

Save 40% on flowers, chocolate, cards and more with this rare Valentine's Day delivery deal from DoorDash.

DoorDash

A deal on flower delivery for Valentine's Day is rare but we found a beauty that you won't want to miss. DoorDash's Valentine's Day deal is live now through Feb. 19 and is good for 40% off flower delivery (up to $25 off) with code 40VDAY at checkout. Flowers are sourced from local florists and will arrive in as little as 30 minutes. DoorDash even allows you to track the order as it's being delivered and notifies you after.

DoorDash is available in all 50 states and most cities. The service delivers from over 7,000 local florist partners, each with its own menu of Valentine's Day bouquets to be sent to your sweetheart's office or home. Oh, and it's not just flowers: If red roses aren't their jam, you can nab 40% off chocolates, baked goods and cards. (The options all depend on what retailers in your area offer.)

I tried DoorDash flower delivery in Brooklyn and found dozens of florists to choose from. To get a sense of the discount, a premium $70 bouquet would work out to $45 with the Valentine's Day promo code 40VDAY. My order was at its destination within an hour and the hand-off was seamless. You also pay a service fee of a few bucks, plus a tip for your delivery person. But even with those add-ons, you're still talking about an awfully good deal on flowers for this time of year.
