A smart thermostat means you'll never have to come home to a cold house again, and it can even help you save some money on your utilities. And if you're looking to upgrade, we've got a deal you won't want to miss. Right now, Woot has several refurbished Ecobee smart thermostats on sale for far less than they typically cost new, including some of our favorite smart thermostats. This sale runs from now until Oct. 8, and there's a chance that some models may sell out before then.

Even CNET reviewer Megan Wollerton recommended getting a refurbished model of the Ecobee3 Lite, featuring it on a list of the best affordable smart thermostats at the refurb price of $130. And right now you can pick it up for even less -- just $100 at Woot, which saves you $80 compared to shopping new. It allows you to adjust your home's temperature from anywhere, it's compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple HomeKit and, according to Ecobee, can save you up to 23% on your annual heating and cooling costs.

Or, if you're after something a little more affordable, you can pick up the Ecobee Smart Si thermostat for just $48. It's not compatible with voice assistants, but you can still control the temperature remotely, and you can set custom schedules for every day of the week. And if money is no object, the Ecobee5 is the most expensive model you'll find at this sale at $158. It has Alexa built-in, in case you don't have or want a smart speaker or display, or you can control it remotely on your phone, and it can save you up to 26% on your annual energy costs. One of the biggest benefits of the pricier Ecobee5 is that it will automatically shut off if it detects that a door or window has been left open. However, that feature requires an Ecobee SmartSensor, which is not included in this purchase. You can pick up a two-pack for $100, but if you don't want to spring for the extra sensors, you're better off with one of the more affordable models.
