YouTube Red holiday show snuggles with Mariah Carey, Mike Tyson

The subscription service's special debuts December 19 with a plot revolving around the loss of a cell phone on Christmas Eve.

Baby, all I want for Christmas is You(Tube).

The world's largest streaming video service will deliver a present to Red subscribers on December 19: a holiday-themed musical show called "The Keys of Christmas."

It stars Mariah Carey along with YouTube musical star Rudy Mancuso, with performances by DJ Khaled, Fifth Harmony and more. Former boxer Mike Tyson will make an appearance as well.

"Music is wildly popular on YouTube and we're excited to bring together some of the biggest names in music alongside some of the biggest stars on YouTube," Ben Relles, who heads unscripted originals at YouTube, said Monday in a statement.

In addition to musical performances, the show will revolve around a plot about a lost cell phone that forces protagonists to go "off the grid" on Christmas Eve.

The special is available to subscribers of YouTube Red, the company's subscription service that costs $10 per month. In addition to removing ads, Red allows offline downloads of videos and the ability to listen to music videos when your phone's screen is off. It also includes exclusive shows and movies by YouTubers.

Red marks YouTube's attempt to compete with subscription video giants like Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. Global revenue from online TV and video services is expected to reach $42 billion in 2020, more than twice the estimated $19 billion last year, according to Digital TV Research.
