Web portal Yahoo announced on Thursday that it has agreed to a multiyear deal to include Fandango as a movie ticket vendor on its Yahoo Movies site. Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal, which begins Thursday, will initially allow Yahoo to direct ticket sales to Fandango's Web site. Beginning the second quarter this year, the relationship will deepen to allow Fandango-hosted ticket sales directly on Yahoo's site.
"Online ticketing is a very important part of the movie business, and by working with Fandango, we believe that we will make Yahoo Movies even more comprehensive for our consumers," Jim Moloshok, Yahoo's senior vice president of media, entertainment, information and finance, said in a statement.
