Watch the trailer for Tina Fey's new Netflix show 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt'

The "30 Rock" creator takes a star of "The Office" from doomsday cult to New York comedy on March 6.

Take your first look at Tina Fey's new sitcom, featuring stars of "The Office" and "30 Rock." "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" stars Ellie Kemper as the titular survivor of an apocalyptic cult who must adjust to life in New York City after years of imprisonment in a bunker. Needless to say, hi-lar-ity ensues!

Fey and Robert Carlock, who were behind the seven-season comedy "30 Rock," created the new series. "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" also features "30 Rock" alums Jane Krakowski and Tituss Burgess, who you may remember from the "Queen of Jordan" reality-show-within-the-show.

"Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" will be available March 6 in all territories where you can watch Netflix. As always with Netflix premieres, all episodes will be available in one go for binge-watching.

The show is the latest to be plucked from its broadcast TV origins by a streaming service. NBC originally planned to air it before Netflix stepped in.

Netflix and other streaming services collect and analyse much more precise data on what people watch, which stars they seek out and even when they turn off. That allows streaming services to see the potential in projects that TV networks might see as a risk. Cancelled shows rescued by Netflix include "Arrested Development" and "Longmire," while Yahoo has revived "Community."

Netflix has ordered two seasons of "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt." The show debuts alongside a number of Netflix productions this year, including season 3 of "House of Cards" and "Daredevil," the first of four series based on Marvel superheroes.
