Vodafone getting Samsung's Croix

Cheaper than iPhone deal in U.S.

Crave UK

You may or may not remember that back in February we had a look at the Samsung F700--aka the Samsung Croix. At that time we had no idea when it was coming out in the U.K., but Vodafone has recently announced it will launch the phone this Christmas.

We're still not sure about pricing yet, but this iPhone-a-like is hopefully going to come free with a monthly contract, which will be much cheaper than the current iPhone deal in the U.S., which sees customers paying 200 pounds ($400) for the handset upfront.

Vodafone also announced a deal with Omnifone, creators of MusicStation, that will let you download tracks from Universal Music Group, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, EMI Music and Warner Music Group direct to your handset. You'll also be able to sign up for unlimited downloads from MusicStation for just 1.99 pounds per week.
