Toshiba boosts hard drive speed

Toshiba on Wednesday announced a new line of small hard drives with speeds of 5,400 revolutions per minute. Current drives top out at 4,200 rpm. The 2.5-inch drives are available in capacities of 20, 30 and 40 gigabytes and are intended for notebook PCs and newer applications such as video recorders and MP3 players.
