In celebration of what would have been The Purple One's 58th birthday (from now on known as Prince Day in Minnesota) Tidal has added over 15 of his rare albums to its streaming-music catalog.
In case you didn't know, Tidal, the Jay Z-backed Spotify rival, is the only way you can stream Prince's music online. It's the first time these previously released albums (no new material here) have been made available for streaming, and some, like The Black Album, are so obscure even CD copies are hard to come by.
Tidal also curated a few Prince-related playlists, including one put together by The Artist himself. The catch, of course, is that you have to sign up for Tidal to listen. Though there are free trials, if you already signed up for one (to listen to the new Beyonce, Rihanna or Kanye West albums that exclusively dropped on Tidal earlier this year) you might have to cough up the $10 this time or miss out.
