If you're such a fan of "Lord of the Rings" that you named your cats Frodo and Sam, you probably even want your little hobbit kitties to poop in Middle-earth.
Super Fan Builds is a new series from AWE me featuring a group of Hollywood prop designers who team up to build awesome geeky things for super fans around the world. In their second episode, the crew, led by Tim Baker, a veteran of the industry for 30-plus years, built an incredible Hobbit-hole litter box and Tower of Sauron cat scratching tower for super fan Misha and his kitties.
The Hobbit-hole is covered with lush greenery and has a stone walkway leading up to the round door through the cats go through to do their business, and the Tower of Sauron scratching post offers both a comfortable place for Misha's kitties to scratch and an imposing warning to visitor cats who dare try to use Frodo and Sam's scratching post as their own.
Check out the video at the top of this post showing exactly how the prop designers conceptualized and built the kitty complex. Just watch in awe as Frodo and Sam lay claim to the Hobbit-hole and Kitty Tower of Sauron as you prep yourself for the epic finale of "The Hobbit," which lands in theaters worldwide this month.
