The same group of hackers that exposed a flaw in the iPhone's mobile Safari browser last week just re-released an update to their popular ultrasn0w client that lets users jailbreak their iPhone 4 to use with any carrier regardless of contract.
There's plenty of reasons to jailbreak your iPhone, like using it as a Wi-Fi hotspot, chatting on FaceTime over 3G, making a phone call without the "help" of AT&T, and downloading apps not approved by Apple store, but before you break out of iJail, consider the stated fact that jailbreaking your iPhone will void the warranty.
On the other hand, we hear that the third-party warranty service SquareTrade DOES cover jailbroken iPhones, as long as you perform a complete system restore prior to sending it in for replacement, so you can go that route as well. Or you can just pull a Wilson and use your girlfriend's iPhone 4 as a guinea pig.
If you've ever experienced a pest that insists on calling you five times a day to see what's for dinner, you'll definitely want to take a listen to today's segment on the best ways to block incoming calls. The advent of Google Voice already makes it incredibly easy to get rid of your unwanted caller.

If a number on your blocked list tries to call you, the service will notify the caller that your number is disconnected--pretty cool, if not slightly passive aggressive. If you have an Android OS phone, you have a handful of free options in the Android Marketplace, like DroidBlock, CallFilter, and Automatic Call Blocker.
With all the programs out there, nothing beats the faithful "silence" button, but don't jump the gun! If you accidentally send them to your voicemail too early, the ruse is up and you'll have to think of another excuse.
In addition to Calls From the Public, we've been getting all sorts of messages on our Blackberry that you need to hear, mainly lyric submissions for our own MC TerrorByte! Show off YOUR skills and BBM us at #2482F452 or shoot us a voice-mail at 1-866-404-CNET (2638)!
