Symbian, which makes operating systems for wireless devices, said Tuesday that it has received additional funding from its backers Matsushita, Motorola, Nokia and Psion. Sony Ericsson has replaced Ericsson as a new investor. Symbian said it will receive $29.32 million in additional funding to take the company through the next phase of its development. At the end of last year, the company had $23.88 million in cash.
