Superhero trailers touch down at Super Bowl 50

Did you take a pee break and miss one of the Super Bowl trailers? Reclaim your nerd cred and watch them all here.

For some people, it's the game that counts. For others, it's the half-time show. But as any good film nerd knows, the Super Bowl is all about movie trailers.

This year offered tantalising tastes from...well, pretty much nothing but sequels, superhero films and, most importantly, sequels to superhero films. So, if you weren't glued to the big game (or were watching from outside of the US) what did you miss?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows

Michael Bay continues a career that seems to be comprised of luck and Teflon, as he scores a sequel for his barely remembered TMNT movie from 2014. Thankfully it looks like Bebop and Rocksteady will finally get the screen time that their fans have been clamouring for. Mark your diaries for June 3 if you're really keen to see this.

Independence Day: Resurgence

A sequel that's been 20 years in the making, the trailer of the new "Independence Day" gets points for actually featuring a Super Bowl game. Although if, as previous trailers have suggested, the world of "ID:R" is one filled with cool alien tech, shouldn't football look more, I dunno, futuristic? It's out June 24 this year, because it's ridiculous that aliens would arrive on July 4 twice, right?

Captain America: Civil War

Marvel has done such a good job of intertwining its films, it can be hard to remember which superhero franchise the new films are attached to. In this case it's definitely "Captain America," which you can tell by the fact Tony Stark, The Vision and Ant-Man are in it. May 6 is when you'll get to see Cap and Bucky stick it to the (Iron) Man.

Either you're super-excited for Deadpool when it comes out this week or you haven't read CNET's (mostly spoiler-free) review. That, or you've forgotten what joy feels like.

X-Men: Age of Apocalypse

James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and all the other younger X-Men return in this new entry into the X-world featuring a big bad only the most dedicated comic fan will have heard of (his name is in the title).

Mark May 27 as a day to go down in history. Warning: this trailer may contain traces of Coldplay.

Jason Bourne

The fifth Bourne film not only returns a jacked-up Matt Damon to the title role, but also has a "Fast and Furious" take on naming conventions, eschewing Legacies and Identities and even Ultimatums. Seriously though, did Bourne just spend the last few years making sure he got his money's worth on that gym membership? Find out on July 29.

Bonus round: Coke Mini

Sure, it's a soda ad but it does have the Hulk and Ant-Man in it, as well as an explanation for why New York property insurance premiums are out of control.
