The Force has had its morning cup of coffee, and it's starting to wake up. By Friday, the Force will be half-alert as the new trailer for " Star Wars: The Force Awakens" debuts in theaters across the US.
Now, when I say theaters, I mean 30 theaters in a handful of markets across North America, as Disney has partnered with Regal, AMC, Cinemark and a few other cinemas to show the trailer to moviegoers this Friday. The trailer will run for a limited time only, between November 28 and November 30, but it will play before all movies at select locations. You can view the complete list of locations on the Star Wars website.
If you don't live in one of those areas, you'll be out of luck until the official first trailer hits the Internet or a theater near you. No additional plans to show the trailer to moviegoers have been announced.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is set to land in theaters in the US, UK and Australia on December 18, 2015. We hope the Force will fully be awake by then.
Update, 2:13 p.m. PT: Regal announced news of the trailer earlier than others. It's actually showing in more theaters than originally reported, a total of 30 locations.
