Sony offers overly dramatic PlayStation 4 unboxing video

If your real experience of unboxing a PlayStation 4 is anything like Sony imagines, then you're probably a billionaire hacker spy.

With the PlayStation 4 arrival inching ever closer to November 15, Sony has decided to amp up the excitement level for customers with an official unboxing video that will probably make the real experience feel like a big letdown.

In Sony's world, you're in a dark room surrounded by massive blinking mainframe computers with a blue light shining down from above onto a PS4 box. Computer consoles, buttons, and LEDs with unclear purposes surround you. It looks like someone turned the lights off on the bridge of an alternate-universe Enterprise.

Dramatic music rises and our hero appears, wearing gloves to open the box. Why gloves? I don't know, maybe this particular box has been covered in chemical deterrents to keep eager early-bird gamers away.

Here's the inventory of what you can expect to find in your PS4 box: Network voucher card (while supplies last), quick-start guide, DualShock 4 controller, HDMI cable, power cord, mono headset, USB cable, and the machine itself.

Now that we all know what an ideal unboxing looks like, it's time for a more realistic look with CNET's unboxing of the PlayStation 4.

For the average gamer, I'm guessing the actual experience will involve ripping open the box on the living room floor while surrounded by bags of Doritos. At least, that's how I would do it.
