Short Take: Storage media makers settle patent claims

Storage media makers SanDisk and Lexar Media have settled all patent suits and other claims against each other. SanDisk sued Lexar in California in March 1998, alleging that Lexar's CompactFlash and PC Cards infringed on a SanDisk patent. Lexar sued SanDisk in Delaware last September, alleging SanDisk's SmartMedia products infringed on a Lexar patent. Lexar and SanDisk will pay each other $8 million and $2 million, respectively, to cover royalties on the patents.
