Philips Electronics unveiled its latest CD devices that include re-writable CDs and new DVD-ROM players. The new devices are being shown at its Comdex booth in Las Vegas. Philips said that its new CDs offer a number of performance upgrades, speed among them. Its latest DVD is a 10X/40X DVD drive that, because of the speed increase, the company said will not slow CD-ROM read-back performance if users upgrade to its DVD.
