Short Take: Compaq extends deal with Powerware

Compaq extended an eight-year agreement that it has with power management firm Powerware. The deal calls for the companies to co-develop next-generation power protection for Compaq's product lines, available in the second half of 2000. The upcoming power protection products will include added features and manageability for small- to medium-sized businesses and data centers.
