Short Take: Bon jour, PeoplePC

PeoplePC, which sells PCs and Internet services through subscription programs, has launched a new subsidiary for the European market. PeoplePC Europe will open with offices in London, Paris and Munich. Vivendi and Softbank invested $50 million in PeoplePC Europe in exchange for a 35 percent stake. The European expansion comes at a time when PC demand thoughout the continent has dipped because of economic woes.
