'Shareware my parents didn't know about': Girt by CNET podcast 55

In the final Girt by CNET for podcast for the year, we go way back and look at the tech we loved from childhood, plus rate our past predictions for the year that was and guess at what 2016 will bring.

With final podcast of 2015 -- and as the Girt by CNET team heads onto a much needed break -- we have a slightly different show for your listening pleasure.

It's a retrospective, but one with a bit of a twist. Rather than looking back just over the past year, the Girt crew are taking a more personal look back, talking about the gear that, like some "Rocky" training montage, helped turn them into the heavyweight tech lovers they are today.

Plus in the interests of transparency, we look back at the tech predictions we made way back in Podcast 11, when 2015 was still an unhatched egg. How did we do? Well... some better than others.

We're also legally obliged to offer our predictions for what 2016 might bring, so get ready for the hottest of takes when it comes to what the tech world will bring over the next 12 months.

We're back on January 22, 2016, after CES 2016 wraps up. You can check out all the coverage of CES live from the show floor right here. If you've got a burning question for the team, simply tweet using #GirtbyCNET.
