Seth Rogen and James Franco mock Sony hack on 'SNL'

The Sony Pictures hack is a very serious business, but the two stars of the movie that allegedly incited it -- "The Interview" -- can't help but have a laugh about what they say was hacked.

North Korea may or may not have been behind the hack at Sony Pictures, but James Franco and Seth Rogen want to be out in front of it.

They are, you see, the stars of the movie that allegedly caused such severe conniptions in North Korea that the nation decided to strike back with the most modern form of warfare known: cyberwarfare.

"The Interview" is an apparently amusing tale of a less-than-perfect plot to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un. It's scheduled to be released on Christmas Day.

As part of its marketing, Franco offered the monologue to last night's "Saturday Night Live."

Franco said he knew that the hackers would begin to release some of the more sensitive material about him very soon.

In order to prepare the world for this, he decided to expose some of it on the show. His email address, for example: CuterthanDaveFranco@aol.com.

But then Rogen appeared, to reveal that all their intimate photos had been taken from his phone and released online. Franco and Rogen have been intimate for some time, but these photos are truly disturbing. (Of course, I'm not going to spoil them for you. Well, not all of them.)

I must confess that when I first heard about the hack, it sounded like a splendid piece of stunt marketing. However, now that it appears real, what else can Sony do (other than beef up its security) but use it to promote the amusingly controversial nature of the movie?

We can only hope, though, that the pictures of Rogen and Franco now cast upon the world will be the last.
