As you read this, I'm probably on a plane winging away from San Francisco. I'm going to be awkwardly positioned in Economy, with the cramped seat fully leaned back; thin, standard-issue airline blanket pulled up to my chin; feet jammed around my purse and the bag of emergency snacks I managed to shove into my allotted personal space, just.
My neck is most definitely wrenched at an angle that I'll suffer through for days.
But none of that will matter as soon as I touch down in Hong Kong and begin a 21-day journey to seven cities in Asia. I'll meet with some phone companies, interact as much as I can with locals and explore the way that everyday tech like phones and social networks permeate public life as I see it.
I'll be bringing you stories from the road, and hopefully sharing at least a post a day with photos of what I'm doing, seeing and feeling. I'd love it if you follow along.
So, where am I off to?
- Hong Kong
- Shenzhen, China
- Shanghai, China
- Beijing, China
- Seoul, South Korea
- Singapore
- Chiang Mai, Thailand
Come along for the adventure!
