SAG Awards 2022 nominations are in. Here are the top contenders

House of Gucci and The Power of the Dog score big as Squid Game, Ted Lasso and Succession battle for TV awards.

The Power of the Dog, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, scored three nominations.
Netflix

Streaming services struck gold with the 28th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, landing an abundance of nominations for films and TV shows.

Netflix, Amazon, Apple TV Plus, Hulu and Disney Plus all scored multiple nominations. Netflix's The Power of the Dog is a frontrunner in the movie category with three nods, tied with Ridley Scott's theatrical release House of Gucci. Meanwhile, the television nominations are dominated by Apple's Ted Lasso and Netflix's Squid Game (the first non-English language show to be nominated), although HBO scored a bunch of nominations for Succession, Mare of Easttown, Scenes From a Marriage and more.

Denzel Washington, Jennifer Aniston, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jennifer Hudson, Lady Gaga, Andrew Garfield and Will Smith are among the stars nominated. For movie fans, the SAG Awards often act as a guide to the forthcoming Academy Awards -- which is bad news for those who've been snubbed, like Kristen Stewart, who hasn't been nominated for what was widely tipped to be an Oscar-worthy performance playing Princess Diana in Spencer.

The 2022 SAG Awards ceremony is set to air Feb. 27 at 5 p.m. PT on TNT and TBS.
