Few budget-range Core i3 laptops have a larger included battery than the Toshiba Satellite A505 series, and that could be the most discerning feature of the A505-6005. The bulky 12-cell should add a larger-than-normal battery playback, much like the very similar Toshiba Satellite A505-6025 we reviewed earlier this year.

Whereas the A505-6025 had a Core i3 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive and dedicated Nvidia GeForce 310M graphics, the A505-6005 has everything but the Nvidia processor, using only integrated Intel graphics. For HD video playback and basic multimedia multitasking, you should be fine. This iteration also sells for slightly less than the 6025.
