Print your own Edward Snowden bust

Move over, Beethoven. A downloadable file from Thingiverse lets you decorate your mantle or piano with NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden.

Now you can say you busted Edward Snowden. Thingiverse

A bust of someone famous on the mantle really helps tie a room together. Instead of Beethoven or Elvis, why not Edward Snowden?

Download this file from Thingiverse to make a 3D-printed 8-inch (20-centimeter) Edward Snowden bust and you'll be on your way to giving your room the kind of centerpiece that makes for lively dinner party conversation.

The bust is modeled after the giant 4-foot-tall (1.2-meter) bust of Snowden that was recently confiscated by the New York Police Department after artists affixed it to the Prison Ship Martyrs Monument in Brooklyn's Fort Greene Park.

The original bust of the former NSA contractor was placed on the war monument by art activists, who still wish to remain anonymous, to bring attention to NSA activities and to portray Snowden as an American war hero rather than a traitor, as some have called him. Snowden was charged with espionage after leaking 1.7 million classified US government documents to journalists.

The giant bust had been in police custody after it was taken down on April 6, and is currently on display at the Boiler gallery in Brooklyn.
