Princess Leia 'Star Wars' collectible doesn't need rescuing

Move over, Han Solo and Luke Skywalker: with two types of blasters, this super-realistic Princess Leia figure from Hot Toys can take care of itself.

Princess Leia led the Rebellion to victory against the Galactic Empire. She sassed her way into Han Solo's heart. And yeah, she kissed her brother -- hey, she didn't know!

Female characters don't always get the best representation in collectibles and toys -- like when the official Avengers toy line used Captain America instead of Black Widow for the illustration of her motorcycle scene! So it's nice to see a "Star Wars" figure that shows the fiery, kick-ass Leia we remember from "Star Wars: A New Hope."

This highly detailed 1/6th-scale Princess Leia figure from Hot Toys is sculpted based on Carrie Fisher as the princess, from her iconic hairstyle to her "Don't make me use this blaster on you" glare.

The 26cm-tall figure (about 10 and a quarter inches) wears Leia's signature white dress, belt and boots, and comes with a stand for display.

With 28 points of articulation and interchangeable hands designed to hold a blaster, this is a Leia that's ready to take on the galaxy.

Pricing isn't available yet, but the figure is expected to be released in late 2015 or early 2016. Sideshow Collectibles should be providing more ordering information soon.
