President Obama is funny getting coffee with Jerry Seinfeld

Technically Incorrect: Appearing in the popular Web series "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee," the president and Jerry Seinfeld are almost funnier than Bill Gates and Seinfeld.

Technically Incorrect offers a slightly twisted take on the tech that's taken over our lives.

The one-liners just rolled along.

"This came from an American culture that would just say things and do them without any idea how."

No, I'm not talking about the institution of the presidency. I'm quoting Jerry Seinfeld about the 1963 Corvette Stingray Split Window Coupe.

To launch the seventh season of the Web series "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee," Seinfeld thought he'd invite President Barack Obama along for the ride.

After all, Obama qualifies as a comedian because of his more than passable one-liners over the years, even if his popularity rating wasn't always high.

The president said he was very popular with the 0-8 demographic, explaining that it's partly because he has big ears, which make him look like a cartoon character.

"I always wanted to be in a show about nothing, and here I am," the president said later, referring to Seinfeld's famous TV series.

Obama suggested the White House isn't very high tech. He has to call someone to change the setting on the thermostat. Apparently we're not dealing with a Nest-friendly smart home here.

And so we discover that the Obama-Seinfeld comedy duo isn't quite as funny as the Bill Gates-Seinfeld duo in some ads Microsoft ran several years ago.

Still, the president has a slightly more serious job than Gates', so his humor can tend toward the more mordant variety, and when it does, it's really quite good.
