Given the quote, we're inclined to think that the image depicts the Space Personality Core, but who are we to argue with an official blog?

The above image was sent to the blog by an anonymous tech at NASA, showing the core (or Wheatley) emblazoned on one of the unmanned HTV-3's panels.

"Please note that when we mentioned an 'anonymous tech at NASA', we weren't kidding," the blog said. "NASA in no way officially endorses secretly laser-engraving characters from Portal onto their spacecraft."

The craft is due to dock with the ISS on 27 July — you can watch more about it on the official NASA channel here.

Meanwhile, we're happy that the little space core finally got its true wish — even if it's just in 2D format.
