OpenTV integrating Flash

Interactive TV company OpenTV and Macromedia have signed a deal that will allow developers who work with the Flash animation tool to create content for interactive TV. The deal, announced Thursday, makes the Macromedia Flash Player immediately available with OpenTV's HTML engine called Device Mosaic 5.0. Under the agreement, the Flash Player will also be integrated with OpenTV's Middleware Solutions. According to OpenTV, its middleware is found in more than 20 million set-top boxes worldwide, and its Device Mosaic is inside more than 7 million set-top boxes worldwide. OpenTV's middleware also supports C, HTML and Java.
