Microsoft's official women's laptop bags. Uh, yeah.

For the ladies?

If Steve Jobs had anything to say about it, any "official laptop bag" created by Microsoft would probably be a giant fanny pack in '80s-style Day-Glo colors that was desperately trying to be cool. Just imagine it worn by John "I'm a PC" Hodgman. But remember, Vista has made Microsoft cool. (They wine-and-dined us at Cipriani, after all.) So, Ballmer & co. have commissioned luggage manufacturer Samsill to create its official laptop bags geared toward female customers, as recently seen on ShinyShiny. They might not be real leather (poly with accents of "leather-look vinyl") but they still look pretty stylish. The three styles, called the "Madison," "Manhattan," and "Monticello" (from left to right in the image) range in price from $50 to $70. And though they're specifically "ladies'" bags, I think your average hardcore metrosexual could get away with the Monticello.

They'll be available on starting on the 15th, so unfortunately, you won't be able to grab one as a Valentine's Day gift. Maybe that's a good thing.

Okay, and on a completely unrelated note--when is John Hodgman going to guest-star on The Office? It seems like such a natural fit.
