Matsushita signs deal with Sonicblue

Sonicblue has signed a seven-year licensing agreement for its digital video recording software with Matsushita subsidiary Matsushita Kotobuki. Sonicblue acquired the recording technology when it bought ReplayTV in August in a stock deal. Matsushita is best known for its Panasonic brand. Tuesday's announcement marks the second major licensing deal for Sonicblue's recording software. The first deal was in May when Motorola signed a five-year licensing agreement. Sonicblue announced last month that it will get back into the digital video-recorder business when it unveiled new high-end boxes.
