Lenovo's Olympic desktop doesn't medal

It falls well short of its laptop design.

Lenovo

If Lenovo's limited-edition Olympics desktop were in the games themselves, it probably wouldn't be too happy with its scores. Unlike the decidedly un-computer-like design of its special laptop--which carries the "Cloud of Promise" motif created for the 2008 torch in Beijing--the desktop PC is breathtakingly boring.

In fact, were it not for a barely perceptible Olympics logo and a "unique and stylish black and silver exterior" (cough), it would be difficult to tell the commemorative computer apart from a standard desktop in Lenovo's 3000 series, as well as its relatively modest specs. On the plus side, it does have a starting price of just $400. We're just glad not be among the judges.
