Jawsdropper: Mark Cuban to play president in 'Sharknado 3'

Technically Incorrect: From "Shark Tank" to "Sharknado" is but one fin-flap for the tech entrepreneur and Dallas Mavericks owner. His co-star is Republican commentator Anne Coulter.

Technically Incorrect offers a slightly twisted take on the tech that's taken over our lives.

Doesn't he look presidential? Surely. The Blaze/YouTube screenshot by Chris Matyszczyk/CNET

When it comes to serious businesspeople, there are few more prominent than Mark Cuban.

When it comes to serious art, there is little more pulsating and captivating than the "Sharknado" franchise.

The sheer exuberance, the aggressive independent attitude, the public mayhem, these all describe the two movies so far -- as well as Cuban himself.

It can't have taken very long, therefore, to cast the tech entrepreneur and Dallas Mavericks owner as the president of the United States in "Sharknado 3."

Perhaps some very sharp-toothed producer suddenly made the connection between "Shark Tank" and "Sharknado" and instantly recognized kismet.

I am informed by the Hollywood Reporter that Cuban's vice will be played by Hillary Clinton. I am sorry, I meant Anne Coulter.

The Republican commentator and all-around voice of reason will surely make an excellent dramatic foil for Cuban, although I'm not sure how comfortable she is with Cuban relations in general.

" Sharknado 2" was a touch disappointing, but only because the original "Sharknado" was so riveting.

One or two people might wonder why Cuban would want to get involved in this enterprise. I suspect he doesn't really care what people think, rather enjoys his life and, let's remember, he's already been on "Dancing With The Stars." On that show, he was affectionately called "Nerd Blossom."

"Sharknado 3" is due to appear on the SyFy Channel some time in July. Please book your vacations now.
