J.J. Abrams gives first look at 'Star Wars' X-wing fighter

The director offers a peek at the X-wing fighter from the set of "Star Wars Episode VII" to promote the Force for Change campaign that raises money for UNICEF.

It's the last week for the Star Wars: Force for Change campaign, which gives "Star Wars" fans the chance to appear as an extra in "Star Wars Episode VII" and meet some of the cast and crew on set. To mark the occasion and plea for additional donations, J.J. Abrams released a special video message from the set, where he appeared next to an X-wing fighter that will appear in the movie.

In the video, Abrams announced a new incentive for those who donate. In addition to potentially being in the film, those who contribute will automatically be entered to win a private advanced screening in their hometown a week before the movie hits theaters.

That's some pretty epic bragging rights for you and your friends, and all it'll cost you is $10 for the chance to win. Even if you don't, your donation goes to a very worthy cause in UNICEF, which helps millions of kids around the world.

May the Force be with you to win this crazy prize package.

Note: Some have pointed out that the new X-wing looks like the z-95 Headhunger from "The Clone Wars" TV series. However, the official Star Wars Twitter account debunked those claims on Monday, confirming it is in fact the new X-wing for Episode VII.
