Intel funds ViewSonic

Display maker ViewSonic announced Monday that it received funding from Intel Capital, the investment arm of Intel. ViewSonic will use the funds to develop future display technologies. ViewSonic manufactures CRT (cathode ray tube) monitors, flat-panel displays and projectors. Intel's funding strategy is meant to increase sales of PCs as well as the sale of its processors, which are at the heart of most PCs. Neither company would disclose the details of the investment.
