One way of customizing the BlackBerry PlayBook is to set the wallpaper to a favorite picture of yours. This guide will give you the knowledge required to give it a personal twist.
Now that you have that PlayBook in your hands, you undoubtedly want to customize your tablet. One way of personalizing your new device is by setting your own wallpaper. The process of setting a wallpaper is very easy and straightforward, while the process of deciding what picture to show off on your device is an entirely different story. Follow along with this guide to learn how to change your PlayBook wallpaper.
First you will need to open up the Pictures app on your PlayBook. Here you will be presented with different categories for the pictures stored on your PlayBook. Choose whichever category has the picture you want to set as your wallpaper, or select All Pictures to view them all.
After you have carefully decided on what picture you want to use, select the picture by tapping on it. The picture should now be enlarged and take up the entire screen on your PlayBook.
Next, bring down the menu bar by swiping down on the top bezel.
In the top right corner you can see the button titled Set as Wallpaper. Press that button and you will briefly see a pop-up alerting you that the picture is being set as your wallpaper.
Exit the Pictures app and you should see the picture you just set as your wallpaper on your home screen.
If you want to create or find your own wallpaper online, make sure the image is 1,024x600 pixels for the best results.
You may notice when you make your own wallpaper, use a picture taken with the PlayBook camera, or even use one you have downloaded from a Web site, that the PlayBook zooms in on the image a bit once it is set as a wallpaper. The images need to be centered on a 1,024x1,024-pixel canvas in order to display properly in both landscape and portrait modes.
